This week is a repeat. But given that many of you reading now weren’t reading then so this will be new to you.
“If you’re anything like I’ve been lately the TV has become an afterthought, forget about what’s actually on it. Normally this would be a welcome blessing for me. My friends are probably cheering after reading my first sentence. Unfortunately that means I’ve been missing important messages.”
“Children’s Miracle Network has been helping kids for years. In fact it was still in the growing phases when I had to use the services of the local Miracle Network hospital. So it’s pretty cool to see how the organization has grown as I have. I have no idea where I’d be today without CMN & their services for special needs kids. I wouldn’t be as independent as I am, that’s for sure, & technology is making miracles like mine much more common. Also, there are more than 9 million kids in the US who are without insurance. CMN hospital’s doors are open to any kid, no matter who they are or where they came from. We keep hearing that early detection & treatment is key. That doesn’t just apply to diseases like Cancer & conditions like Autism. It’s life. A healthy, & I’m using the term very broadly, kid in the present becomes a healthy adult for the future.
As one of their “miracles” I’m asking you to please consider buying a miracle balloon to support your local CMN hospital so it can continue to help kids in your area. I think a balloon with only set you back $1. A small price to help a kid who needs help considering one night in a hospital costs.” –from May 10, 2007
In the 2 years, 1 week, and 1 day since I wrote that post not much has changed, although I’m guessing the numbers of kids who walk though the doors of a CMN hospital uninsured or underinsured have increased. Which makes supporting CMN all the more important.
When I first wrote about Children’s Miracle Network over 2 years ago I never would’ve envisioned still benefiting from their services, yet here I am. But with further development of our healthcare system, and with the help & experience of CMN, there’s always the possibility that children won’t need the help of CMN as adults.
You can just consider me one of their miracles….in progress….
